I run a number of courses throughout the year, both residential, usually over a weekend, and non-residential, four to eight evening of approximately two hours each.I am currently running a relaxation course in Oxford. Introduction to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction - MBS070911

This four-week course gives an introduction to Mindfulness Based Stress reduction, and is held in the central location of Hollow Way Medical Centre in Oxford. The sessions last for one and a half hours
Mindfulness Based Stress reduction can help with

It is now widely used in stress and pain management clinics. Very simple meditation techniques are used that help change our response to stress by teaching greater awareness of our body and mind. This includes the use of simple breathing exercises to restore calm and well-being.
The course will include gentle exercise suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. It will benefit anyone who would like to learn how to use meditation to help with the stresses of daily life.

This weekend is an introduction to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction in the beautiful retreat house ‘Holycombe’ in Whichford. This course is especially for people who care for a loved one, whether it is a partner, friend, relative or child that is ill or disabled.
The caring role is often immensely rewarding but can also be tiring and stressful with little time to relax and take care of your own needs. This weekend aims to give you strategies to calm tension and promote well-being while continuing your busy life.

The course involves learning about posture and teaches participants a number of stress-relieving exercises, ranging in length from only a few minutes up to a full half-hour bodyscan. We also look at simple exercises that can be done at any time and in any place to deal with specific tensions, or to give us a moment in which to back away from our lives when tension begins to mount up. I am aware that with a busy lifestyle, making time for relaxation is difficult, so many of my exercises are tailored to fit into your working day.duration: 4 weeks. Next date: (to be advised)
